Texas Stonewall Democrats Officers
Mo Jenkins
At-Large Board Officer
Mo Jenkins (she/they), a Black Trans-woman and proud Texas native, is a passionate advocate for social justice and community empowerment. Currently, she serves as the At-Large Officer of the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus and the Committee Director for the House Corrections Committee. As Committee Director, Mo has been instrumental in legislative achievements, including the defeat of school vouchers and the creation of the Open Burn Pits Registry Fund.

Despite facing significant personal challenges, such as losing her mother at 13 and experiencing homelessness, Mo demonstrated remarkable resilience. She navigated the foster care system and achieved an associate degree in high school, followed by a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC).

During her time at TAMU-CC, Mo made history as the first openly trans person elected to the Student Senate, where she also served as Speaker of the Student Senate and later Student Body President. She was also the first openly trans person to serve on the A&M System Chancellor’s Student Advisory Council and was elected Secretary. In this role, she successfully lobbied for a tuition and fee freeze for the entire system.

Mo's dedication to community advocacy began in her teenage years. Today, she is an influential leader within the Texas Young Democrats, serving as a caucus officer for both the Black Caucus and Stonewall Caucus. Her leadership continues to inspire and drive positive change within her community and beyond.
