APPLY FOR CHARTER CLUB STATUS
Any new or existing club or organization using the name “Stonewall” or “Stonewall Democrats” that wishes to be recognized and participate in the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus must submit local chapter bylaws to the Executive Committee (officers) of the state caucus for review and approval.

After the proposed local bylaws have been submitted and approved by the caucus Executive Committee, the chapter will be recognized and seated on the TSDC Board by a simple majority vote of the existing TSDC Board members at any duly called board meeting in which there is a quorum present. No chapter or club will be recognized without the submission and approval of bylaws to the Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus.

The Texas Stonewall Democratic Caucus recognizes a high degree of autonomy for our many local chapters around the state. The reason for this policy—and the bylaw submission, review, and approval process—is to ensure that there are no provisions that are in conflict with the state caucus or the overall mission of the organization, as deemed and interpreted by the TSDC Executive Committee.

Once a chapter or club is approved and recognized by the caucus, that chapter or club should make its bylaws publicly available to its members, potential members, and the general public by posting them on their website, Facebook page, or other means of readily accessible electronic communication.

Furthermore, regularly scheduled membership meeting times, dates, and locations should also be publicly disseminated in such a fashion. All Stonewall chapters and clubs are expected to adhere to this policy.
